Aristotle and Ancient Educational Ideals, by Thomas Davidson. That's French for "the ancient system," as in the ancient system of feudal privileges and the exercise of autocratic power over the peasants. The ancien regime never goes away, like vampires and dinosaur bones they are always hidden in the earth, exercising a mysterious influence.   Aristotle argues that virtuous character is the result of three things: a person’s intrinsic nature, a person’s habits, and the guidance of reason (). While Aristotle himself was not a Christian and many of his views were wrong, these three concepts are nevertheless consistent with a biblical understanding of moral education.

For the first time in digital publishing, Delphi Classics is proud to present the complete works of Aristotle. The Ancient Classics series provides eReaders with the wisdom of the Classical world, with both English translations and the original Latin and Greek texts.4/5(37).
